bite me audience

Demographics:

  • We decided the target audience would be female, between the age of 14-25. This is because the protagonists of our film is young females, therefore the audience can relate themselves to the characters. Although we are aiming at females, male can also enjoy and be entertained by watching 'bite me' as its a comedy, horror hybrid. With little romance and lots of action and humour.
  • As the characters are university students, we thought it would be a good idea to aim the movie on students, because they would related to the characters better . However Bite me is a feel good film especially for employers as they can also watch it and it can be stress reliving for them
  • The ethnicity could be any, as we thought it didn't matter much because the movie would appeal to any ethics, but for class, we chose to aim at lower middle class, because they would be the best fitted in that category, as we don't think higher class would be interested in watching a movie like bite me.
  • The location for our target audience would be in America/England as our movie is not a typical british film, so it can appeal to both, also we can use both british and american jokes in bite me, whilst making the movies. This is would make it more relevant to American and British.

Psychographics:

Our target audience should be interested in comedy, horror films with a lot of action. Their lifestyle should be outgoing and socially active. A person with a good sense of humour, that is sporty, tomboyish would enjoy the movie a lot as they would have similar personality, values and lifestyle to the protagonist of this film.

locations for production.

Richmond park:
Due to our idea about making a short film and inserting it inside our main film.. I thought this location at richmond park would be a good place to film.If the scene for Edrita and Billy was filmed here in the evening, because of the weather it may give the scene a cold and dull feel to it, which is what we would want as its an horror film. Also because we want the scene to be set in a forest or woods type of place, this may be the best location. The opening hours at richmond park also meet our needs, richmond park is open until late at night, therefore we can chose anytime to film,as there is no restrictions.

Gunnersbury park
However a better location i think may be at gunnersbury park, because we dont have to travel much, therefore time would be saved and we can use that time for improving our production and film. This loction also meets our needs and is similar to the setting we are looking for. The picture you see above already has arctic feel to it, this may be caused by the old building we see in the picture. Also filmed in evening will make the setting appeal more to horror genre, because this location on its own looks revolting.
The inspiration for this kind of setting was: Twilight.
Scene of Edrita and Billy filmed in a forest type setting.

lighting, noir films

I can use similar lighting technique which were used in the famous film Nosferatu. This is because we are using a shadow of an vampire in our own movie similar to the clip above. Therefore we can flash the lighting directly at the actor whos shadow we want, to give effect and so the shadow is  shown bold and clear. It is important because the audience need to know and have a clear understanding of what this happening in the scene. This can only happen if the shadow in the scene is definite. The clearness of the shadow would also depend on what time of the day it is. If the scene was shot in natural lighting it is likely that we would get many shadows we might not want. However if the scenes shot in a dim lighted room using a spotlight we would be able to establish the shot the way we want it.

The film establish the genre of noir films, as it uses contrast between light and dark. This can give many effects to the film for example we can use the dark do hide a characters identity giving it a mysterious effect. As most of our production is based on a lighting, such as lighting from the weather outside, we have to create this effect. lighting from the TV. We can establish the genre of noir films when filming the biting scene.

The biting scene in our film does not show the bite, instead we hears a scream and a shadow attacking Bree (protagnist). We then see blood and the bite mark on her neck.
